The six million Jews you thought were killed in Europe? They actually moved to America and died in car wrecks, and the U.S. simply invented the “Holocaust” to justify bombing Japan. At least that’s the word from the Muslim Brotherhood’s new press man in Egypt, who claimed in 2010:
“The myth of the Holocaust is an industry that America invented,” Shihab-Eddim said. . . .
“U.S. intelligence agencies in cooperation with their counterparts in allied nations during World War II created it [the Holocaust] to destroy the image of their opponents in Germany, and to justify war and massive destruction against military and civilian facilities of the Axis powers, and especially to hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki with the atomic bomb,” Shihab-Eddim said.
If President Morsi’s explanation for his own anti-Semitic remarks is any indication, Shiab-Eddim’s were simply taken out of context…by Jews in the American media.
Meanwhile, the Brotherhood is the proud owner of twenty new F-16 fighter jets, courtesy of the U.S. The recent curfew ordered by Morsi, and the extralegal powers granted to the police “enforcing” it, haven’t kept violent protesters off the streets. Right now, there’s no guarantee that the Brotherhood or even the military is capable of restoring order. The country’s top general warned yesterday that the Egyptian state is in danger of complete collapse. The prospects for such a collapse are extremely worrisome.
The Holocaust-denying attitude on display here is deeply ingrained in the culture of Egypt’s governing party. The more it loses control of the country, the more anti-Semitism we’re likely to hear. The Muslim Brotherhood is unlikely to hold itself accountable for Egypt’s mess—and all too many will nod in agreement to those who say the Jews are to blame.
