Michael Fagan, the barefoot intruder who humiliated British royal security by climbing unobserved into Buckingham Palace, wandering through the building’s art collections and private areas, trying out various thrones for comfort before breaking in on the queen in her nightgown, was finally corralled by a footman who gave him a glass of Famous Grouse whiskey while they waited for the police.Previously, he had fortified himself by a liberal helping from Prince Charles’ personal wine collection. Something cheap and awful from California, Michael Fagan has now revealed in an interview in the Telegraph. (No word on whether it was organic.)All told, the Palace seems well stocked with Bertie Wooster’s favorite beverages. Fagan says that the only problem he encountered on his palace walk was the lack of restrooms. It seems to Via Meadia that if the queen had known what happened to the corgi food that night once Fagan gave up on finding the bathroom, her footman might have been a little tougher on the intruder.Fagan lost his shoes while scampering about on the palace roof, looking for a way in. The shoes were later found, wrapped and mailed back to him. There will, it appears, always be an England.
