I'm Sure They Will Use The Bomb Responsibly If At All

From ABC News: Embattled Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has shared a few thoughts with the world on the anniversary of 9/11:

“The September 11 [attacks] were actually a planned game to provoke the human community’s sentiments and find an excuse for launching attack on Muslim regions and occupying Iraq and Afghanistan, which led to the massacre of one million innocent people…”

In other news from the center of enlightenment and tolerance known as the Islamic Republic of Iran, three men were hanged last Sunday for the crime of homosexual conduct. This may appear to contradict the famous claims that the Iranian president made in New York that Iran has no homosexual problem per se, but as long as all known homosexuals are hung on sight then presumably the problem is under control.

Clearly, those who fear that a nuclear Iran would be a destabilizing or dangerous presence in the Middle East are a bunch of ignorant, neo-conservative war mongering thugs.  We should do everything we can to win the friendship and trust of this noble regime and make it our partner in the quest for durable Middle East peace.

My solution is to bomb their soft target energy industry, cutting off all oil revenues, and putting them all on foot and in the dark. This would have the added benefits of cutting off funding to Hezbollah, Hamas, Syria, etc…, terrifying the other oil producers with their obvious vulnerability to American air power, and encouraging US energy development.

And our esteemed president and secretary of state (I find if difficult to even respect the offices so long as they are occupied by these incompetent fools) don’t believe Iran and its insane leader are a threat.

More “magical thinking” from the left. Liberalism truly is a mental disorder.

Professor, for reasons I’ve never fathomed, the past tense of the verb describing death due to a rope around the neck and dropped from some height, is hanged, not hung…

  • Very well said. It reminds me of a quote by Soviet dissident Sakharov: “A country that does not respect the rights of its own people will not respect the rights of its neighbors.”

In other news, Why does Ron Paul and Ahmadinejad have so much in common?

Iranian homosexuals are hung on sight? Well that’s good news for them I suppose, unless you meant hanged 😉

Sorry, just introducing light and pedantic typography-oriented humor to a dark and disturbing topic. gross distribution of capital punishment is too overwhelmingly tragic for me to deal without some PUNishment of my own…

hmm, i used the word oriented and something just clicked in my mind. you think maybe the Iranian regime is so hostile to people with a gay orientation because they object so passionately to Orientalism? See, it’s really just their noble post-colonialist intentions that make them murder people.

just like the PFLP! Also enlightened folks, say one or two of my university professors.

So we should probably give Ahmadinejad’s regime a second state, following the impeccable logic of the ‘world community’ since the days of the Achille Lauro…
